Diving Safety Management System
DSS strongly believe that safe diving operations are supported by a robust Diving Safety Management System (DSMS). The DSMS should represent the minimum of the management of health, safety, security, environment and quality. This needs to link into the overall company management system and ideally sit comfortably within a recognised management system, for example ISO9001 Quality Management System. DSS bespoke holistic review is taken from many perspectives such as business processes, company policies and dive site documentation to name a few.
Diving Regulation/Standard Compliance
DSS uses a bespoke mapping tool to review existing company practices and procedures against preferred regulatory guidance to identify shortfalls which can then be addressed.
Internal and External Audits
DSS conduct bespoke auditing on diving operations to ensure compliance and assurance to regulations, standards and company procedures and policies.
DSS prides itself in being able to support not just large established diving companies but also emerging ones.
After many years of auditing 3rd Party diving companies, compliance was a constant weak area which, in the majority of cases, demonstrated a poor or ineffective diving safety management system.

As stated within our scope DSS use a bespoke mapping tool to identify shortfalls and then working with clients to develop robust corrective action plans which DSS then support the client in implementation.
Aside from auditing DSS has a wealth of experience in diving project management for all areas of inland / inshore diving. Projects supported range from vessel repairs to large marine construction projects. We ensure compliance to contract and manage effective and collaborative project deliverables ensuring safety, quality and meeting budget constraints.

After a successful career in the British Royal Navy first serving as a helicopter technician and then Mine Clearance Diver, the founder accepted a position as General Manager for a global underwater engineering company. Initially supporting the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region then returning to cover the United Kingdom and Europe. Key clients during this tenure included USN Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), British Royal Navy, Ministry of Defence Salvage & Marine Organisation, Oceaneering, Shell, BP, MAERSK, TK UK Shipping to name a few. The experience gained through military diving and commercial inland & inshore diving management uniquely places DSS in the position of being able to review all aspects of diving safety and interspersed with the complexities of running a profitable business.
Since 2018, DSS has been actively engaged in the offshore energy business supporting primary contractors and sub-contractors with client representative, superintendent and supervisory roles.

We review existing company policies, procedures and documentation and use a bespoke mapping system to identify shortfalls against required or desired commercial diving standards. DSS will then work with the Client to agree a scheduled programme to address the shortfalls.
This process is carried out for diving companies and also those who contract diving services to ensure compliance.
